Banning Hosting Free Job Search Assistance in Monthly Meetings

The city of Banning is hoping they can help residents gain an edge in the job hunt, as they again host free job search services.

As of June 3, they are hosting monthly meetings that focus on things like "... creating a winning resume, applying for jobs online and on paper, where to find jobs, interview techniques and networking strategies," according to City Spokesman Bill Manis.

The assistance is available on the first Tuesday of the month, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., at the Banning Community Center, located at 789 N. San Gorgonio Ave.

Another session will be held on the first Thursday of the month, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., at the Cabazon Community Center, located at 50390 Carmen Ave.

The city started the job assistance program last year.  It will again run through September, giving job seekers another three months to take advantage of the services.

Banning has another Employment Resource Fair scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 25, Manis said.   Last year, more than 100 jobs were represented at the fair.  (More information to follow on this year's event as it becomes available.)
