Stay Safe and Beat the Heat at a Cooling Center

Temperatures are expected to climb to over 100 degrees. County officials want residents to know there are places where they can cool down.

With temperatures on the rise Riverside County officials are spreading the word about cooling centers for those who are unable to afford to run their air conditioning or those who do not have any cooling system in their home.

The region will be under an excessive heat warning through much of the weekend.

In Banning and Beaumont temperatures were expected to hover around 100 through at least Sunday, according to the National Weather Service’s San Diego office.

In Banning, the highs could reach 105 Saturday and 102 Sunday. Beaumont will see the worst of the heat with a possible high of 107 Saturday and 104 Sunday.

To beat the heat, Riverside County officials advise residents to get out of their homes and head to centers where they can keep cool, or Cooling Centers. They recommend the following locations:
