Police: Banning Probationer Nabbed Burglarizing Nicolet Middle School

The same man was arrested back in October when unsafe electrical wiring was found hanging over his baby's crib in Banning, according to law enforcement officials.

A Banning man was caught this weekend allegedly trying to burglarize a local middle school, and police have identified him as the same person who was arrested several months ago for child endangerment when electrical wiring was found running over his baby's crib, according to police reports.

28-year-old Christopher Noone was arrested Sunday around 2:30 a.m. at Nicolet Middle School after police were dispatched to an alarm activation at the site, according to jail records and police reports released Tuesday.

"Officers arrived on scene, conducted a search of the campus and discovered a sliding glass door had been pried open," a Banning Police Department press release said.  "A perimeter was established and a building search was performed."

A short time later, Noone was found hiding in the cafeteria area, the report stated.

He was arrested on burglary charges and taken to the Banning jail, where he posted $5,000 bail the same day, jail booking records indicated.

According to court records, Noone is on probation for a guilty plea he made of child endangerment.  The misdemeanor charge is in relation to an Oct. 18, 2012 arrest, when child protective services took his 6-month-old away because of the unsafe living conditions found in his Banning home.

At that time, the Riverside County SAFE task force had served a warrant at the house where Noone was living-- located just around the corner from Nicolet Middle School.  Though the arrest warrant wasn't for Noone, rather his roommate, Noone was arrested when investigators found found several unsafe living conditions-- including unsafe electrical wires running all throughout the house and no running water, according to District Attorney Spokesman John Hall.

The house also smelled strongly of marijuana, and plants were found growing in the backyard, though they were legal since residents had a medical marijuana license, Hall said.

Noone's six-month-old baby was taken away by CPS after the home was found to be unsuitable for him to live in.

"There was an electrical wire running right over the baby’s crib," Hall told Banning-Beaumont Patch at the time of the arrest.  "Officers also found dirty diapers in the crib with the child..."

Court records indicate that Noone was placed on probation for 48 months, and part of the terms say he must enroll in parenting classes and obey all laws.

It was not immediately clear if Noone's child was returned to his care nor how this recent burglary arrest will affect his probation.
