The biggest challenge for Beaumont Unified has been keeping apace with the city's rapid growth. The district has moreMore than 8,000 students and 350 teachers.  While the district office remains in a quaint Depression-era building that was once Beaumont City Hall, many of the schools are spanking-new, including Beaumont High School.  

According to Superintendent Barry Kayrell, the high school has the sixth best graduation rate in Riverside County and the fourth lowest dropout rate.  Two grammar schools, Brookside and Tournament Hills, earned California Distinguished School Awards.

Tournament Hills, in the newest section of Beaumont south of Interstate 10 and west of downtown, is a CaliforniaMore Distinguished School with an API test score of 880. The Eagles are on a mission to be good students and citizens, according to Principal Domenica Bernauer, and parent involvement is high, 120 volunteers and 360 in the PTA, even though the school has fewer than 500 students.
