Visit 2 Aviation Museums Saturday With Just One Drive

Planes of Fame and Yanks Air Museum are both located at Chino Airport, easily accessible from the Euclid Avenue exit of the Chino Valley Expressway. Both are open Saturday, and Planes of Fame is also open Sunday.

Southern California has long been a center of aviation, so it's probably not surprising to learn that the Chino Airport is host to two museums

Planes of Fame and Yanks Air Museum are both located on the north side of the airport, easily accessible from the Euclid Avenue exit of the Chino Valley Expressway.

Planes of Fame, founded in 1957, is the older of the two museums and has a collection totaling over 150 planes, some 50 of which can still fly. Yanks opened in 1982 and has a collection of 170 aircraft.

Both museums' collections span World War I to the latest era, from biplanes to jets, both civilian and military.

Planes of Fame is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday. General admission is $11, children 5 to 11 are $4 and children under 5 are free.

Yanks is open 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and closed Sunday. General admission is $11, children 5 to 11 are $5 and children under 5 are free.

After you tour the museums, don't forget to check out both gift shops.
