San Gorgonio Memorial Hospital Touts 'Ride for Your Life'

San Gorgonio Memorial Hospital officials are touting a "Ride for Your Life" event in October with 7-mile and 16-mile options through Banning, Beaumont and Cherry Valley.

The public is invited to join hospital associates on the ride, which is intended to promote healthy activities for Pass Area residents, San Gorgonio Memorial spokeswoman Molly Ellis said.

The ride event is scheduled to start at 9 a.m. Saturday Oct. 12. Participants are asked to meet in the Women's Center parking lot off Wilson Street.

"Bring your bicycle, helmet, water and appropriate clothing," organizers said in a flier for the event. "Arrive a little early and we will help make your bicycle roadworthy if needed.

"We will offer two different rides," organizers said. "One route is geared towards the young and/or very fit crowd, about 16 miles with moderate hills, and an easier one for the participants who are on their way to becoming fit, approx. 7 miles of flat terrain."

San Gorgonio Memorial Hospital is at 600 N. Highland Springs Ave. in Banning. The Women's Center parking lot is the northeast area of the campus. For more info call the hospital at (951) 845-1121 and ask for the Physical Therapy Department.
