Storm System Could Bring Rain in the Pass, Snow in the Mountains

The cloud cover blanketing much of Southern California on Tuesday morning could bring rain to the Pass and snow to the mountains sometime between today and Friday, according to the National Weather Service.

"Skies will be mostly cloudy and temperatures will remain several degrees below averages through the end of the work week," Weather Service forecasters said Nov. 19. "Some patchy marine layer drizzle may develop during the overnight and morning hours through Thursday . . . however accumulating precipitation isn't expected until Thursday and Friday."

A hazardous weather outlook was also vague:

"A slow moving storm system will bring chances for mountain snow and valley rain . . . cooler temperatures . . . and breezy winds to much of the region," the Weather Service advised. "The best chances for rain with southeast of Interstate 15 . . . but all areas will see a chance of rain on at least one day during the period."

Highs around 60 were expected in the Banning-Beaumont area for Tuesday and Wednesday, and the low 50s on Thursday, according to the Weather Service. Overnight lows around 50 were expected through Friday morning.
