Banning, Beaumont, Get Ready for a Hot Weekend, NWS Says

Temperatures in the the San Gorgonio Pass are expected to be 5 to 15 degrees above normal for this time of year.

Warmer than usual temperatures are expected in Riverside County this weekend.

According to the National Weather Service, temperatures will be 5 to 15 degrees warmer than normal for this time of year, with Saturday being the hottest day.

Highs on Saturday are expected to range from 93 to 103 degrees in the valleys, 78 to 90 in the mountains, 106 to 111 in the lower deserts and 92 to 100 in the high deserts.

As for Beaumont-- we can expect it to get up to 98 degrees on  Saturday.  Banning will be slightly cooler at 94 degrees, according to NWS data.

"The heat may adversely affect those working or playing outdoors, the elderly, the young or the sick," an NWS advisory said.

The agency encouraged residents to avoid strenuous outdoor activity, if possible.

Here's the National Weather Service forecast for Banning for the next few days:

  • Friday Afternoon:  Sunny, with a high near 90. East wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.
  • Friday Night:  Clear, with a low around 68. West wind 5 to 10 mph becoming north after midnight.
  • Saturday: Sunny, with a high near 94. East wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph.
  • Saturday Night:  Clear, with a low around 69. West wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.
  • Sunday:  Sunny, with a high near 88. West wind 5 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph.
  • Sunday Night:  Clear, with a low around 62.
  • Monday:  Sunny, with a high near 82.
Here's what Beaumont has in store: 
  • Friday Afternoon:  Sunny, with a high near 94. Southeast wind around 5 mph.
  • Friday Night:  Clear, with a low around 64. West wind 5 to 10 mph becoming light and variable in the evening.
  • Saturday:  Sunny, with a high near 98. East wind 5 to 15 mph becoming southeast in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 20 mph.
  • Saturday Night:  Clear, with a low around 66. West wind 5 to 10 mph becoming light northwest in the evening.
  • Sunday:  Sunny, with a high near 92. Light west wind becoming southwest 10 to 15 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 20 mph.
  • Sunday Night:  Clear, with a low around 59.
  • Monday:  Sunny, with a high near 87.
