Winter Bites Back: Felt Like 80 Degrees Few Days Ago But True Season Returns

From San Timoteo Canyon to Banning, snow and temperatures near freezing greeted early risers Tuesday morning.

It felt like 80 degrees a few days ago but winter has returned to the San Gorgonio Pass, where early risers from San Timoteo Canyon to Banning woke up Tuesday to slush, snow or ice, and near-freezing temperatures.

Daytime highs from Beaumont to Cabazon Tuesday and Wednesday are expected to range from the mid-40s to low 50s, according to the National Weather Service. Overnight lows Tuesday night could dip into the low 30s again.

There's a 20 to 30 percent chance of showers again Wednesday night into Thursday, and temperatures may reach into the 70s again by Friday and Saturday.
