Opening Day for Beaumont Youth Baseball & Softball at Noble Creek Park

It was windy Saturday morning, but that didn't dampen enthusiasm as hundreds of young athletes, their coaches and families turned out.

Opening day for Beaumont Youth Baseball & Softball brought out hundreds of youngsters, their coaches and families Saturday at Noble Creek Park.

It was windy but that didn't dampen enthusiasm for what's become a Beaumont spring tradition.

An estimated 900 baseball and softball players on 82 teams and their families turned out, said Dodie Carlson, facility coordinator for Beaumont Youth Baseball & Softball.

Activities included team photos, a raffle, and a carnival with bat-a-thon and dunk tank events.

Opening day for Banning Pass Little League is scheduled March 17 at on South Hargrave, between East Westward Avenue and Charles Street in Banning.
