VFW Desert Edge Post 233 provided the above photos of the Memorial Day ceremony to Banning-Beaumont Patch.
Dozens gathered Monday to honor Beaumont’s veterans at the city’s annual Memorial Day ceremony.
The ceremony, hosted in front of the Veteran’s Memorial at the Beaumont Civic Center, featured presentations by city leaders and the police department’s color guard.
The local Veterans of Foreign Wars post, Desert Edge Post 233, played a large role in the event.

Ernie Hernandez, who handles public relations for the post, provided Banning-Beaumont Patch with the great photos of the event, seen above.
“After the ‘Reading of the Names’ and ‘Wreath Presentation,’ the Veterans of Foreign Wars Desert Edge Post 233 Color Guard, led by Post Commander David Tedrow, performed a rifle salute and firing volley along with the playing of taps,” Hernandez added.

“It is always reassuring to know our Post is in a community that truly remembers what Memorial Day really means,” VFW Post Commander David Tedrow said. “We must never forget the sacrifices that have been made for our Freedom.”
