Beaumont VFW Honors Fallen Yucaipa Soldier

Army Pfc. Nathan T. Davis – A Hero's Sendoff! VETERANS OF FOREIGN WARS DESERT EDGE POST 233

The following was submitted by the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 233:

VFW Desert Edge Post 233, Beaumont, CA was honored to post their Honor Guard for Army Pfc. Nathan Tyler Davis of Yucaipa, CA. 

Along with representatives of VFW District 23, Riverside, CA and VFW Post 233 of Beaumont, members of various American Legion branches, there were hundreds of veteran’s of all branches, various branches of the Patriot Guard and many others whom both live in the community and from out of town.

A group of members of the 1st Battalion, 501st Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team (Airborne) performed the Honor Guard and Firing Volley Detail.

The protest threat from the extremist group Westboro Baptist Church, Kansas turned out to be a false threat as they were a no-show to both the Funeral and Cemetery services.

In any case, the community was ready to combat any possible threat as thousands lined the streets in Yucaipa and Calimesa all the way through Beaumont to Davis’ internment at Sunnyslope  Cemetery in Beaumont.
