Adults Help Boys & Girls Clubs Mix
New board named for San Gorgonio Pass Boys & Girls Clubs.
The rain did not deter about 120 people from attending the Boys & Girls Clubs of the San Gorgonio Pass Board Installation breakfast on Monday. The event was held at Morongo Golf Club at Tukwet Canyon, formerly East Valley.
Amy Herr, Executive Director of the Boys & Girls Clubs presented a plaque of appreciation to Banning Mayor Barbara Hanna. Hanna was grateful for the acknowledgement and quick to mention that Hanna & Herr were there at the beginning back in 2002 when seven kids were being served. Today, there are 11 sites in Banning and Beaumont representing over 750 young people.
Bob Botts, member of the Banning City Council turned the reins of the Boys & Girls Clubs over to newly elected president Liz Dickenson, of the Loma Linda Medical Center in the Highland Springs Medical Plaza. The other officers serving on the board for the 2011-2012 year are:

Fernando Sanchez- Burgos, Nicolet Middle School in Banning is president of the Torch Club. A great speaker at his young age, he summed up his feelings about the Boys & Girls Clubs, " . . . great it is for kids of all ages."
Linda Hanley, fresh from being named Citizen of the Year by the Banning Chamber of Commerce, spoke about the new Boys & Girls Clubs campaign.

"It Just Takes One," Hanley said. Hanley brought up the 3 T's: "Time, talent, treasure."
