The Flies Are Back In Town!

Summer is here which means everyone is going to start heading outdoors in search of fun. I moved to Beaumont two years ago lured in by the small town feel , and let's be honest lower home prices. I have enjoyed everything about moving here-except one, the flies. Every summer brings them out in droves. I have never in my life seen so many flies. I feel like I am at that house in The Amityville Horror! So, my question to fellow Beaumonters is what in the heck do you guys do about all these flies in order to enjoy the outdoors? We have bought those fly trap bags at local stores, bag filled with water, lilac bushes, and vinegar sprays. Nothing works. We have heard fans can help. Has anyone had success with this tactic. I understand we will not get rid of them completely. I am looking in my backyard right now and there are hundreds out there. We do have dogs, but we pick up their feces almost immediately. I am at my wits end and summer has not ever officially began. Am I the only one with this issue? The first home we rented in Beaumont was not this bad with flies. Does it depend on where you live? Our yard is basically all dirt, a situation we hope to rectify soon. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks. And to anyone else dealing with the flies-good luck to you.
