Redlands Native Evens Road Leg 2-2 in CONCACAF Champions League

Landon Donovan, 30, nailed a tap-in late in the second half Wednesday evening in Toronto to secure a vital draw for Los Angeles on the road, the first match of two-leg quarterfinal in the CONCACAF Champions League.

A soccer player who grew up in Redlands scored a game-tying goal in the 89th minute Wednesday for the Los Angeles Galaxy in Toronto, to secure a 2-2 draw in the first match of their CONCACAF Champions League quarterfinal.

Landon Donovan, 30, nailed a tap-in late in the second half Wednesday evening to complete a two-goal comeback in hostile Rogers Centre, the Toronto Blue Jays' home stadium, packed with 40,000 Toronto FC supporters.

Donovan, who recently returned from in Liverpool, England, started the match for the Galaxy along with Juninho, Mike Magee, Edson Buddle, Robbie Keane and David Beckham.

The experienced side goes into the second leg next week with the advantage of two vital away goals.

The return match is Wednesday March 14 at the Home Depot Center in Carson.
