Ontario Fury Fail to Overcome San Diego Attack

The Ontario Fury, Driven by Mark Christopher Chevrolet, lost their sixth consecutive Professional Arena Soccer League game Saturday night, falling to the four-time defending champion San Diego Sockers 13-5 at Valley View Casino Center.

Ontario trailed 8-2 at halftime, and had a golden opportunity to get back into the game with a two-man advantage for 1:46, but they were unable to convert on either power play opportunity. The Sockers scored 16 seconds after the penalties expired to blot out chances of a comeback.

Kraig Chiles, who completed a hat trick in the first half, en route to four goals in the game, led San Diego’s attack. Brian Farber and Evan McNeeley had two goals apiece, as nine Sockers players netted goals.

The Fury offense was paced by Tiguinho, who had three assists on the night. Two of those assists resulted in the first goals of the season for Robert Tornel and newly signed defender Jay Harris. Tornel also added an assist. Also scoring for Ontario were Luis Piffer and San Diego-area native Mikel Palmerin.
