Beaumont Looks To Surprise Teams In CIF Dual Meet Wrestling Championship

The Cougars will compete in Saturday's CIF Division 4 dual meet playoffs at Redlands East Valley High School

There is strong wrestling in the Pass, and Beaumont High has proved that by making the CIF Dual Meet tournament as an at-large team in Division 4, the CIF Southern Section announced Thursday.

League champions filled the majority of the bracket, and the Cougars were one of the few at-large teams selected from several leagues in Division 4 throughout Southern California.

Three of the 16 teams in the bracket are from the Mountain Pass League, including Beaumont, San Jacinto High and league champion, Citrus Hill.

Beaumont will face Golden League champion and No. 4 seed Quartz Hill. San Jacinto opens with Victor Valley High School, while Citrus Hill faces Fontana A.B. Miller.

The Division 4 meet will be held Saturday at Redlands East Valley High School. Weigh-ins begin at 9 a.m. with first-round matches starting at 11 a.m.
