Beaumont Football's Homecoming This Friday Billed As Battle For Consistency

The Cougars (2-4) will host San Jacinto and Banning football will host Notre Dame on Friday night. Both schools celebrate homecoming.

Beaumont High’s season so far has included heartbreaking loss, a close victory, a blowout victory, and then . . . Friday night’s game against Citrus Hill.

The Hawks reeled off 45 unanswered points in a 45-7 victory over the Cougars Friday night at Citrus Hill High School in Perris.

Beaumont held the unbeaten Hawks (6-0) scoreless in the first quarter, but Citrus Hill scored 38 points in the second. The Hawks scored one more touchdown in the third quarter for a 45-0 lead.

Beaumont (2-4) broke the shutout in the fourth quarter on a touchdown by quarterback Josh Martin.

The Cougars host Mountain Pass League rival San Jacinto (5-1) Friday night in Beaumont's homecoming game. San Jacinto is coming off a 42-14 league victory over Tahquitz High in Hemet.

Banning (0-6), coming off a 30-16 loss against Rubidoux, will host Riverside Notre Dame as the Broncos look for their first victory on their new high school field. The Broncos are also celebrating homecoming Friday.

Game time Friday night for both schools is 7 p.m.
