Banning Girls Basketball Scores Home Game, Beaumont Teams On Road In CIF Basketball Playoffs

The Cougars send their boys to Woodbridge High, while their girls travel to Diamond Ranch High.

Beaumont High School’s basketball teams will start the CIF playoffs on the road this week, it was learned Sunday when pairings were announced by the CIF office.

Beaumont’s boys, the No. 3 team from the Mountain Pass League, will head to 13th-seeded Irvine Woodbridge, the No. 3 team from the Pacific Coast League for a first round game in the 3A Division on Wednesday at 7 p.m. A victory would most likely earn Beaumont a second-round home game Friday against Damien, the division’s No. 4 seed.

Beaumont’s girls team, which earned an at-large berth to the 3AA playoffs, plays Thursday at 7 p.m. at Diamond Ranch. Diamond Ranch, the No. 2 team from the Hacienda League, is seeded sixth in 3AA.
