Redlands native Landon Donovan assisted on two goals Sunday night before being injured in the Los Angeles Galaxy's 3-0 defeat of Seattle in the first leg of the two-match Major Leage Soccer western conference finals in Carson.
Donovan set up Irish captain Robbie Keane twice to give the Galaxy a 3-0 lead in the second half before he pulled up with an apparent hamstring injury.
Mike Magee also scored for the Galaxy as Los Angeles dominated the Sounders at Home Depot Center.
The second leg is scheduled at 6 p.m. Nov. 18 in Seattle. The match will be broadcast on ESPN platforms, according to Major League Soccer.
Donovan, 30, grew up playing soccer for local clubs, Redlands High and Redlands East Valley. He played for Everton FC of Liverpool during the MLS off-season earlier this year.
