New Creation Church 7th Annual Golf Tournament to Benefit Summer Camps

Participants in the May 4 golf tournament have the chance to win prizes, including a new car for a hole-in-one, and a 7-day 7-night trip to Hawaii on the island of Kauai, according to tournament organizers.

New Creation Church of Beaumont, Banning and Yucca Valley is planning its 7th Annual Golf Tournament on May 4, to benefit its summer camps and other community outreach efforts, a church representative said Tuesday.

The tournament is scheduled at the Tukwet Canyon Morongo Golf Club in Beaumont, and fees are $100 per player, which includes cart fee, green fee, driving range and lunch, and $50 for non-players attending lunch only.

Proceeds from the tournament will help reduce fees for children attending New Creation camps this summer, Juan De La Fuente, communications pastor for New Creation, said in a phone interview March 12.

This year New Creation will offer four-day camps for kindergartners to 6th-graders in June in Forest Falls, and for 6th-graders to 12th-graders in August in the Big Bear area, De La Fuente said.

New Creation has been running the camps for nine years and they are open to children throughout the San Gorgonio Pass area, De La Fuente said.
