MSJC Fundraising Event Deemed Success

Though money raised is still being counted, this event has raised $3,000 in years past, according to the college.

A weekend motorcycle run benefiting Mt. San Jacinto College is being called a success by organizers, thanks to the 100+ people who turned out in support of the event.

The 3rd annual MSJC Foundation Scholarship Motorcycle Run, held Saturday, took the riders from the San Jacinto campus, to the San Gorgonio Pass campus in Banning, with a final stop at the Menifee campus.

Though money raised is still being counted, this event has raised $3,000 in years past, according to the college.

With the money raised, the school will be able to provide more scholarships to students.

"This event is just so different from typical fundraising activities," said Mary Lucas, president of the MSJC Foundation Board of Directors.  “It attracts people from a wide area and helps them to see the beauty of the region and understand the hard work Mt. San Jacinto College is doing to provide a quality education to the students.”

Approximately 20,000 students attend MSJC at the San Jacinto, Menifee Valley and San Gorgonio Pass campuses, the Temecula Education Complex and other off-site locations.
