Math & Science Conference for 200+ 8th-Grade Pass Area Girls at MSJC

The conference is organized by the American Association of University Women and it is scheduled Thursday Jan. 12 at Mt. San Jacinto College, organizers said.

More than 200 8th-grade girls from Banning and Beaumont will learn about careers in math and science during an annual Math & Science Conference on Jan. 12 at Mt. San Jacinto College, organizers said.

The event is scheduled 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. next Thursday at 1499 N. State St., the college's San Jacinto Campus,  in San Jacinto.

The conference is organized by American Association of University Women committees from Redlands, Banning and Beaumont, and it is hosted by Mt. San Jacinto College, organizers said.

Guest speakers and hands-on workshops are intended to relate the need for math and science in specific professions, and to encourage the girls to continue math and science studies in high school.
