Hendey, Jones Selected Student-Athlete Reps

Amanda Hendey and Jake Jones to represent Beaumont High at Citrus Belt Area Athletic Director's Association brunch in May, Beaumont High athletic director Martin Dusold says.

Jake Jones and Amanda Hendey have excelled in recent years for Beaumont High School sports.

To recognize their achievements, Hendey and Jones have been selected to represent Beaumont High as outstanding student-athletes at a Citrus Belt Area Athletic Director's Association brunch in May, the school's athletic director said Friday.

Jones competes in soccer and tennis, and Hendey won state and national titles in wrestling this year.

"They were selected based on their merits as student-athletes over the course of their time representing Beaumont High School," Cougars Athletic Director Martin Dusold said.

The Citrus Belt Area Athletic Director's Association brunch is scheduled May 18, when Hendey and Jones will be honored along with student-athletes from other schools represented in Citrus Belt Area, Dusold said.

Stretching from Barstow to Temecula, the Citrus Belt Area includes more than 70 member schools in 14 leagues, according to an association web site.
