Beaumont Varsity Cheerleaders Win Back-to-Back, Earn Bid to Nationals

Their next competitions are at Tahquitz High in Hemet on Feb. 2 and at Rialto High on Feb. 9. Both events are being organized by Sharp International.

Beaumont High's varsity cheer squad placed first in two back-to-back competitions Jan. 19 and Jan. 20 in Orange County, and they earned a bid to the USA High School Spirit Nationals in Anaheim, a cheer parent said this week.

The varsity's first win came when they competed Saturday Jan. 19 at the USA Regionals at Yorba Linda High School, Alicia Espinal said. The acronym the organizers use, USA, stands for United Spirit Association.

Six teams competed in the Varsity Show Cheer intermediate super division, from communities including Glendora, Norwalk and Whittier, Espinal said.
