RivCo Registrar Certifies June 5 Election; Recount Requests Due Wednesday

The results are now official with this certification, which means recount requests must be submitted by Wednesday, June 27.

The Riverside County Registrar of Voters announced this week the results from the June 5 primary election are now official.

The results were officially certified on Friday, it was announced Monday night.

Those results have now been forwarded to the county board of supervisors, according to Registrar Kari Verjil.

Now that the results are certified, concerned voters have only a limited amount of time to file a request for a recount.

"By law, a request for a recount must be filed with the Registrar of Voters office within five days after election results are certified," Verjil said in a press release.  "The deadline to request is Wednesday (June 27)."

The cost of a recount must be paid by the person or group that requests it.

Countywide, a total of 238,152 votes were used to calculate the final results.

The offiical Riverside County results for our local races are:

US Representative 36th District

State Senator 23rd District
