'Reconfiguration' of Elementary School to be Discussed 6p Monday in Cabazon

A special meeting of the Banning Unified School District board fo trustees will include discussing the "Reconfiguration of Cabazon Elementary School," according to the agenda.

The Banning Unified School District is considering a "reconfiguration" of Cabazon Elementary and district trustees plan to meet in Cabazon Monday to discuss the proposal.

The change for Cabazon Elementary is recommended by Gordon Fisher, Banning's assistant superintendent for curriculum, instruction and assessment, according to a district agenda for the special meeting.

The goals of the proposed change are to "maintain fiscal solvency through effective and efficient district operations," to meet and exceed test score targets, passing rates and high school graduation rates, and to "Close Achievement Gap," according to the agenda.

The meeting is scheduled at 6 p.m. Monday April 16 in the Cabazon Elementary School cafeteria at 50575 Carmen Ave.
