Wednesday is Deadline Day for Photo Contest

Photos must be submitted to the city by 5 p.m. Wednesday. The top five finalists from each category will be announced in August and the category winners will be announced in the November 2012 edition of Beaumont Now! Magazine.

The deadline to enter the Beaumont Centennial Photo Contest is rapidly approaching.

Beaumont will turn 100 in November and city has been accepting submissions in five different categories since the first of the year. Four of the categories are open to all photographers age 18 and up, with the exception of individuals affiliated with the City of Beaumont. There is one category for up and coming photographers, age 17 and under, titled “Celebrating the City through the eyes of our emerging residents.”

Adult categories include:
Beaumont Outdoors – To capture the physical aspect of Beaumont (no people):

  • Parks
  • Open space
  • Nature
  • Landscape
  • Architecture

Beaumont Community – Celebrating a thoroughly integrated, active community (photos should be people-focused):

For contest rules, visit the city’s website. Entries must be submitted by 5 p.m. Wednesday. Photographers may only enter one photo per category. Judging will be conducted by the city's special events committee.

The top five finalists from each category will be announced in August and the category winners will be announced in the November 2012 edition of Beaumont Now! Magazine, which will also publish the photographs. The grand prize winner and category winners will also be recognized at a special 100th anniversary reception.
