Moving Closure on SR 60 in Badlands + West Beaumont for Herbicide Spraying

The project is planned from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday March 31 on the eastbound and westbound 60 from Gilman Springs Road to Western Knolls Avenue, according to Caltrans.

Moving closures are planned Saturday on State Route 60 for herbicide spraying in the Badlands and west Beaumont, Caltrans officials said Friday.

The project is planned from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday March 31 on the eastbound and westbound 60 from Gilman Springs Road to Western Knolls Avenue, according to Caltrans.

The work involves "chemical spray to control landscape," a Caltrans announcement stated.

Workers will be using "a 'roundup' type spray," Caltrans District 8 spokeswoman Terru Kasinga said.

Roundup is a brand name for a common herbicide sold in hardware stores and other businesses.
