Heat Advisory for Thursday, Friday

Get ready for scorching temperatures.

High pressure building over the Four Corners area is expected to bring hotter weather to the Coachella Valley and the mountains and valleys of Riverside County over the next couple days, forecasters said.

A National Weather Service heat advisory is set to take effect at 11 a.m. Thursday and will extend until 9 p.m. Friday.

Temperatures could reach 116 degrees in the Coachella Valley and up to 105 degrees in the mountains, meteorologists said.

Weather service forecasters said hot weather can be stressful for people and pets if precautions are not taken. Kids and pets must not be left unattended in vehicles because temperatures inside can quickly rise to lethal levels.
