Got Junk? Beaumont Hosting Clean Up, Recycling Event

Hundreds of Beaumont residents are expected to "clean-up" this weekend, at the city's annual event geared at letting you rid yourself of unwanted items.

Beaumont residents can drop off their unwanted bulky and recycling items this weekend free of charge, at a city-sponsored clean up event.

The event will be held on Saturday, Oct. 20, from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. , at the Stewart Park baseball field,  on Maple Avenue and Ninth Street.

Last year, an estimated 300 people came to the event to drop things off, according to the city.  In total, the following items were collected at 2011’s event: 15.64 tons of bulky waste, 6.53 tons of green waste, 4.4 tons of tires, 5.9 tons of e-waste, 256 boxes of documents to be shredded and recycled, and 11 tons of scrap metal.

  • Documents for shredding
  • Scrap metal
  • Green waste
  • Bulky items
  • Bottles and cans
  • Electronic waste
  • Tires (no wheels)

A note—this event is only open to Beaumont residents, according to the city.
