Golf Cart Application Deadline Extended for Beaumont Christmas Light Parade

The Beaumont Police Department will be accepting golf cart applications until Thursday Dec. 8, a city official said. The parade is scheduled to start 6 p.m. Saturday at Palm Avenue and 12th Street.

The deadline for anyone wanting to ride a golf cart in the Beaumont Christmas Light Parade has been extended to Thursday, a city official said.

Applications are available on the City of Beaumont website or at the Chatigny Community Center, 1310 Oak Valley Parkway.

The Beaumont Police Department will be accepting golf cart applications until Thursday Dec. 8, said Kyle Warsinski, community development analyst for the city.

More than 15 entrants have already registered with the city to take part in the parade. The participants include themed floats and people in costume, according to city spokeswoman Ashley Starr.

Golf carts are a new category for this year, Starr said.

Saturday is expected to be sunny with a high around 60, and temps could drop below 40 after sundown, according to the National Weather Service.

The parade is scheduled to start at 6 p.m. Saturday Dec. 10 at Palm Avenue and 12th Street and head to the .

Following the parade cookies, cocoa and coffee will be served to everyone at the Civic Center, organizers said.

From 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, the will be at 550 E. 6th St.
