Beaumont recently re-elected incumbents to its City Council, but they won't be inaugurated until the January meeting. Because so many council votes tend to be at least 4-1, these meetings can seem anticlimactic. An area of the agenda to watch is the Consent section. These items are considered "routine and noncontroversial," so the council doesn't debate them — the perfect place to hide something loaded that the council doesn't want to talk about in public.
