D.A. Office for Coachella Valley to Start Relocating to Palm Desert Nov. 12

Personnel and employees of the Riverside County D.A.'s Office for the Coachella Valley are scheduled to begin relocating Tuesday Nov. 12 to leased space in Palm Desert in advance of demolition of the County Administrative Center in Indio, a district attorney's spokesman said Thursday.

The interim location and mailing address will be 74923 E. Hovley Lane, Suite 140, Palm Desert, 92260. The leased space is at Hovley Lane and Cook Street, John Hall of the District Attorney's Office said.

The D.A.'s Division of Victim and Witness Services will be relocated to the same complex with a new address of 41555 Cook St., Suite 160, Palm Desert, 92211.

The Family Justice Center's new address will be 41555 Cook St., Suite 100, Palm Desert, 92211.

Telephone numbers will remain the same, including the main number, (760) 863-8216, and the toll-free number (888) 374-1235, Hall said.

Preparation for demolition of the County Administrative Center in Indio is scheduled to begin in December in advance of teardown planned in January 2014, Hall said.

"The Eastern Division of the D.A.'s Office is relocating to the interim leased space until the new County Law Building is built and opened at the intersection of Highway 111 and Jackson Street in Indio," Hall said. "Plans for that facility have been ongoing for about a year and it is scheduled to be occupied in 2015."

The costs for relocation of the Eastern Division and leased interim space in Palm Desert are included in the county's East County Detention Center project, according to Hall.
