Congressional Candidates Make the Rounds One Day Ahead of Election

Congresswoman Many Bono Mack will be meeting with volunteers, while challenger Dr. Raul Ruiz will be making a few stops of his own-- one of them including the city of Banning, campaign officials say.

The incumbent in the 36th Congressional District race will visit campaign volunteers Monday, while her challenger hits three cities on the last day of the campaign.

Rep. Mary Bono Mack, R-Palm Springs, who has been in office since 1998, will meet with volunteers around the district. She is scheduled to visit Republican headquarters on Dr. Carreon Drive in Indio at 2 p.m., spokesman Jim Specht said.

Her challenger, emergency room physician Raul Ruiz, will attend a "Get Out the Vote" rally at noon at Palm Springs' Frances Stevens Park, at the corner of North Palm Canyon Drive and East Alejo Road.
