Ocean Champions, a non-profit political group that endorses candidates with pro-Ocean stances, has endorsed incumbent Congresswoman Mary Bono Mack (R-Palm Springs) for another term in Washington.
"Congresswoman Bono Mack embodies the spirit of the Teddy Roosevelt Republican, hewing to conservative values while supporting land and water conservation and ocean health,” said David Wilmot, Ocean Champions’ President and Co-Founder.
"I am very grateful to have the support of Ocean Champions,” said Congresswoman Bono Mack. “I have always fought for meaningful land, ocean, and wildlife protections for the areas that I represent and for our nation. I look forward to continuing to be a strong advocate for thoughtful environmental policies."
Ocean Champions praised Bono Mack for her push to establish the Santa Rosa and San Jacinto Mountains National Monument, and for her efforts to restore the Salton Sea.
