Bono Mack and Ruiz Comment on Romney V.P. Choice

The candidates for the 36th Congressional District seat comment on the presumptive republican nominee's choice for running mate.

Congresswoman Mary Bono Mack (R-Palm Springs) and her challenger Raul Ruiz (D-Coachella) both released statements over the weekend addressing the the choice of Paul Ryan (R-WI) as Mitt Romney's running mate. 

“Governor Mitt Romney’s selection of Congressman Paul Ryan is the right choice for America," said Bono Mack. "It sends a strong message that President Romney will lead with bold economic policies to rebuild our economy, create jobs, hold the line on taxes, and bring down out of control wasteful spending.  The team of Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan is one the nation can rally behind and move us into a better and more prosperous tomorrow.  I know Congressman Ryan and I know him to be a man of integrity and ability.”

Ruiz stated:

“Mitt Romney's selection of Paul Ryan is further proof that the radical right has captured control of the Republican Party. Congressman Ryan's budget plan - fully supported by Congresswoman Mary Bono Mack - would end Medicare as we know it and cut critical programs for students, while giving huge new tax breaks to millionaires and corporations that ship jobs overseas. The Ryan-Bono Mack Budget Plan would harm thousands of retirees and working families in the Coachella Valley. Romney's choice will help ensure that voters see just how out of touch Congresswoman Bono Mack has become."

Bono Mack and Ruiz are running for the newly formed 36th Congressional District seat in November.
