Beaumont State Assembly Candidate Hosting Local Meet and Greet

Current Beaumont Unified School District Board Member Mark Orozco will host an event at a Beaumont Mexican restaurant.

Local school board member and State Assembly candidate Mark Orozco will host an event to meet the public this Thursday at a local restaurant. 

The event will be held at Toluca's Mexican Restaurant, at 892 Oak Valley Parkway (just north of Interstate 10) from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.

This is not a fundraiser, so it doesn't cost anything to attend.

Organizers are dubbing the event as a "an informal chat about issues facing the Pass Area and the 42nd Assembly District and why Mark is running to be your next State Assemblymember." 

As of Wednesday afternoon, some 30-40 people had already committed to going to the event, organizers tell Banning-Beaumont Patch.

Orozco is running to be the next state assemblyman for the 42nd District, against incumbent Brian Nestande.

The 42nd District includes San Bernardino County; 29 Palms, Morongo Valley, Yucaipa, Yucca Valley, Landers, Joshua Tree, and Pioneertown, as well as Riverside County; Beaumont, Banning, Cherry Valley, Cabazon, Calimesa, San Jacinto, Hemet, White Water, Palm Springs, Palm Desert, Indian Wells, La Quinta, and Rancho Mirage.
