Banning Passes 2 Year Budget

The citywide revenues for FY15 are $85.9 million and the expenditures are $89.9 million.

At their Regular Meeting of June 24, 2014, the Banning City Council adopted a new two-year budget covering the period of fiscal years 2014-15 to 2015-16. Deputy City Manager/Administrative Services Director June Overholt stated “the budget reflects the continued efforts by staff to manage the available resources while maintaining current service levels.”

The General Fund has a structurally balanced budget for fiscal year 2015, which has a revenue/expenditure budget of 13.9 million, and is supported by signs of an upturn in the economy which equates to projected increases in property tax and sales tax revenues. Expenditures have essentially remained status quo for the various City departments. The citywide revenues for FY15 are $85.9 million and the expenditures are $89.9 million.

According to Ms. Overholt “approval of the budget document provides a framework and necessary authority to provide a variety of services to citizens, to complete planned projects and to pay the required debt service payments for fiscal year 2014-15. The budget is a living document and adjustments to the budget are expected throughout the year.
