Residents from the city of Banning can get rid of their unwanted bulky items this weekend at a free drop-off event.
The event will be held at Dysart Park on Sat., Oct. 27, from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m.
Some of the items that Waste Management will accept are:
- furniture
- mattresses
- old appliances
- lumber
- green waste
- household batteries
- electronic waste, including: cell phones, monitors, computers, stereo systems, TVs, DVD players and VCRs
They'll also take your old refrigerators, freezers and air conditioners-- but only if you have a certified seal of freon/CFC removal.
If you're planning on going, don't bring the following, because it will not be accepted for disposal: business waste, car batteries, paints, oils, solvents, cleaners, gasoline, gasoline additives, tires, construction waste, auto parts, and other hazardous waste.
For those who can't make the event, but may have stuff to get rid of, Waste Management provides residential customers with bulky goods pick up service (up to three times per year) for free. Call (800) 423-9986 to schedule.
To get to Dysart Park, head east on I-10, exit 22nd Street, then Right on 22nd Street to the end of the street.
