Ballots in the Mail for June 5 Primary Election, Early Voting Underway

Riverside County voters can expect to see their vote-by-mail ballot by the end of the week.

Nearly 400,000 vote-by-mail ballots began being mailed out this week for the upcoming primary election, the office of the registrar announced.

The Riverside County Registrar’s Office says the 393,518 ballots should be in their appropriate mailboxes by the end of the week.

On the ballot, voters will find choices for president, senator, congressional representatives, state senate, state assembly, superior court judges, school board members and Measure 28.

If you’re not registered to vote by mail, you can either vote in person on Election Day, vote early at designated polling locations, or request a mail-in ballot for yourself.

Here are some important dates to keep in mind for voting in this election:

  • May 21 is the last day to register to vote in the June 5th Election.
  • The deadline to request a vote-by-mail ballot is May 29.  To do so, fill out the request form on the back of your sample ballot or use the application form on the Registrar of Voters’ website.
  • Beginning May 7, voters can vote early in person at the Registrar of Voters’ office, 2724 Gateway Drive in Riverside.  That goes through June 4, excluding holidays.
  • Early voting booths will be set up at the Galleria at Tyler, 1299 Galleria at Tyler in Riverside; Westfield Palm Desert, 72-840 Highway 111 in Palm Desert; and The Promenade in Temecula, 40820 Winchester Road on June 1 through 3, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Vote by mail ballots need to be received by 8 p.m. on June 5.
  • On June 5, Election Day, you can vote in person at your local polling place, from 7 a.m. until 8 p.m. Find that location here.
