Yucaipa Man Found Hiding in Bushes After Police Discover Narcotics Lab

Police say that 25-year-old Matthew Perry was arrested after they discovered a mescaline lab inside his Yucaipa home.

A Yucaipa man was arrested this week when sheriff's officials say they found him running a narcotics lab out of his home.

Matthew Perry, 25, was arrested Wednesday at the house in the 12000 block of Clover Drive in Yucaipa, according to San Bernardino County Sheriff's Deputy Sherry Eversole.

Eversole said that police were tipped off to the lab when they got an anonymous "We-Tip" call regarding narcotics activity in the area.  Responding officers contacted a woman and two men at the house– but Perry fled the are when he saw authorities arrive.

"Perry was later discovered hiding behind a shed in the back yard of the residence," she said.

Once inside the house, authorities say they found an active narcotic lab for producing mescaline.

"San Bernardino Sheriff's Narcotics Division assisted in the investigation when deputies discovered an active Mescaline Lab inside of the home" Eversole said.

Perry was taken to the San Bernardino County jail and booked on charges related to running the laboratory, she said.
