Youngster Accused of Punching Two Boys, Stealing Scooters in San Jacinto

The sheriff's department is looking for a 12 or 13-year-old accused in the attack.

The Riverside County Sheriff's Department is looking for a boy– who is just 12-13 years old– accused of assaulting two others and threatening to stab them before making off with their scooters.

According to sheriff's Sergeant Rose McKinney, the incident happened around 8 p.m. in the area of Brinton Street, near State Street and N. Ramona Blvd.

"The investigation revealed that a black male juvenile approached two male juveniles who were riding scooters," she said.  "The suspect punched one of the victims in the face and threatened to stab them."

At that point, the two boys were able to run away, but had to leave their scooters behind with the attacker, which were subsequently stolen, according to McKinney.

The suspected thief was described as being 12-13 years old, with a thin build.  He's about 4'6", has black hair and brown eyes, the sergeant said.

Anyone with information regarding the incident was encouraged to contact the San Jacinto Police Department at 951-654-2702.

Everyday when I check the patch, i am finding more articles regarding Hemet or San Jacinto. They really need their own patch. This is no longer the Beaumont/Banning Patch.

Hey, I count on those stories to make me feel better about my home area. Relativity is useful when trying to be optimistic regarding one's curcumstances, as in "yes the Pass has issues with crime, but at least we're not like Hemet". A sad, cheap method of feeling good, but I'll take it where I can get it.

Beaumontdave ;) well said! We moved to Hemet from Oceanside, and hated it. When we moved up here 2 years ago we felt a world of a difference. We call Hemet "nut sack of the earth" lol.
