Woman Shot on E 12th St in Beaumont

Beaumont police were notified of an injured adult female about 8:30 a.m. Wednesday by Cal Fire, according to Beaumont spokeswoman Darci Mulvihill.

A woman sustained a gunshot wound in Beaumont and it was reported to police Wednesday morning, according to a news release distributed Thursday afternoon.

Beaumont police were notified of an injured woman in the 200 block of East 12th about 8:30 a.m. Oct. 3 by Cal Fire, according to Beaumont spokeswoman Darci Mulvihill.

"Cal-Fire advised that they had received a report of an injured adult female and upon arrival discovered that the female had a gunshot wound," Mulvihill said in a statement.

"The injured female was transported to a local area hospital and is currently in stable condition," Mulvihill said in the statement, which was distributed shortly before 4 p.m. Thursday Oct. 4.

Detectives were "investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident," Mulvihill said.

The wounded woman's name was not released. How the woman was wounded and whether anyone had been questioned or detained was also not disclosed.
