Woman, 18, Recovering from Incident in Massacre Canyon South of Beaumont

She was rescued Monday afternoon from the area near the junction of Gilman Springs Road and Lamb Canyon Road, according to Cal Fire.

An 18-year-old woman was recovering Tuesday from injuries she sustained while hiking in Massacre Canyon south of Beaumont, according to Cal Fire.

She was reported in need of assistance about 2:10 p.m. Monday in Massacre Canyon and 30 firefighters along with one ambulance crew responded, said Cheri Patterson of Cal Fire-Riverside County.

Firefighters including Oak Glen Crew 5 located the woman and helped transport her out of the canyon to the waiting ambulance, Patterson said. She was in stable condition.

Massacre Canyon is north of Gilman Springs Road and east of Lamb Canyon Road, also known as State Route 79.
