A man and woman suspected in the theft of electrical wire from San Jacinto junction boxes were arrested, but a third suspect was still at large Saturday, officials said.
Melanie Hubert, 29, and Bryan Henderson, 42, both of San Bernardino, were booked into the county jail, a Riverside County sheriff's sergeant stated in a news release.
Henderson was booked on suspicion of vandalism, receiving stolen property, possession of burglary tools and interfering with power lines.
He was released on bond for $5,000 bail and ordered back to court Jan. 11.
There were no booking records for Hubert available on the sheriff's jail website.
Deputies were called about 6:20 a.m. Friday to investigate the report of two hooded men removing electrical wires on Esplanade and Villines avenues, a sergeant wrote.
The suspects were last seen walking on Esplanade but a white Chevrolet Blazer was reportedly parked near the men, the sergeant said.
Hubert was found in the Blazer and Henderson was found a short distance away, officials said.
Investigators searching the SUV found large amounts of electrical wire and cutting tools, officials said.
Also found were several vehicle stereo amplifiers, African artifacts and identification and credit cards not belonging to the suspects.
The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information regarding this incident is encouraged to contact San Jacinto police at 951-654-2702.
