Woman Hit, Killed by Car in Hemet

The collision happened early Friday morning on Florida Avenue, near Hemet Street.

A woman died Friday morning after she was stuck by a car in the Hemet area, fire officials said.

The woman was walking on Florida Ave., in between Standford and North Hemet streets, when she was hit, according to Jody Hagemann of the Riverside County Fire Department.

"The pedestrian, an adult female, did not survive," Hagemann said.

That woman has since been identified as 28-year-old Katrina Ravellette of Homeland by the Riverside County coroner's office.

The crash happened in the early morning hours, just after 4:30 a.m., according to Hagemann.

The California Highway Patrol is now investigating the incident, Hagemann indicated.
