Wild West Arena and Saloon Burns in Winchester, 'Dive Bar' Management Undeterred

A Winchester business described by management as a "dive bar" burned early Wednesday, sustaining an estimated $200,000 loss, but the people who run and promote the Wild West Arena and Saloon plan to be open for business Thursday.

Here's a post from the business' page on Facebook, posted around noon Jan. 22:

Ok people! We're for sure opening from 11am-5pm everyday, starting tomorrow, Thursday, January 23. Sodas, water, beer and wine only for now. We will be set up outside, serving with smiles and accepting donations to help rebuild and tips to help keep us fed while we rebuild. Please feel free to stop by and reminisce while supporting our cause. All events are planned to continue as scheduled. We are determined and full speed ahead!

The fire was reported at 4:34 a.m. Jan. 22 at 32150 Grand Ave., Melody Hendrickson of Cal Fire-Riverside County said in a statement.

Seven engine companies responded to the commercial structure fire, and the first personnel on scene reported a manufactured building "well involved with fire," Hendrickson said.

The blaze in the 2,500-square-foot structure was reported contained at 5:19 a.m., Hendrickson said. No injuries were reported.

Property loss was estimated at $200,000, Hendrickson said. Information about the cause was not disclosed by Cal Fire. The Riverside County Sheriff's Department also responded.

Wild West Arena and Saloon management posted a photo before noon Wednesday showing some of the fire damage and wrote, "We will rebuild! We plan on being open during the days operating outside. Who's with us???"
