Weekend San Jacinto Shooting Turns Deadly

"Upon arrival the officers located a Hispanic male adult lying near the roadway suffering from an apparent gunshot wound," police said.

A man was shot to death on a San Jacinto road, a Riverside County sheriff's sergeant said.

The shooting was reported to San Jacinto police officers at about 8:15 p.m. Sunday in the 800 block of Minor Street, said Riverside County sheriff's Sgt. James Erickson.

"Upon arrival the officers located a Hispanic male adult lying near the roadway suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. The victim had already succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene," Erickson said.

Sheriff's homicide detectives were investigating the death, he said.
