Weapons Seized in San Jacinto: AK-47 Assault Rifle, Glock, Ruger, All Loaded

Luis B. Ojeda, 25, of San Jacinto, was arrested late Thursday and booked Friday morning on suspicion of multiple felonies. He was held Friday evening on $50,000 bail, according to inmate records.

A Riverside County gang task force did a probation search Thursday night in San Jacinto and seized an AK-47 assault rifle, two semiautomatic handguns, ammunition and 2 grams of methamphetamine, a task force commander said.

The search was initiated just after 9:30 p.m. Thursday in the 1700 block of Rogers Way by the Hemet-San Jacinto Gang Task Force, Hemet police Sgt. Matt Hess said.

They went to check out Luis Braullio Ojeda, 25, and they found the AK-47, a .40-caliber Glock pistol, a 9mm Ruger pistol, handgun holsters, assault rifle magazines, handgun magazines, numerous bullets in various calibers, the methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia, Hess said in a statement.

"The AK-47 and the handguns were fully loaded and placed in easily accessible locations within the residence," Hess said. "Ojeda is a known associate of a San Jacinto criminal street gang. He was charged with weapons, narcotics, and probation violations."

Ojeda was arrested late Thursday and booked Friday morning on suspicion of multiple felonies. He was held Friday evening at Southwest Detention Center in Murrieta on $50,000 bail, according to inmate records.

Hess listed charges against Ojeda as: 12280(b) PC-possesses an assault rifle, 12021(a)(1) PC-convicted felon possessing a firearm, 11378 H&S-possess controlled substance for sale, and 1203.2 PC-violation of probation.

The Hemet-San Jacinto Gang Task Force is one of eight teams comprising the Riverside County Regional Gang Task Force, a collaborative effort of 25 law enforcement agencies.

The Hemet-San Jacinto Gang Task Force includes members of the Hemet Police Department, San Jacinto Police Department, Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, Riverside District Attorney’s Office, Riverside County Probation Office, and the California Highway Patrol.
